Inadequate understanding of Islamic pedagogy has the risk of not recognising genuine progress in the field of education. We can see the tendency of contemporary Western research to neglect theories that challenge the underlying notion of a European-centered history of intellectual thought and spirituality. As higher education has become increasingly internationalized, with unprecedented cultural and religious diversity, there is a call for a better understanding Madrasah education.
At the heart of our research is a desire to search for greater understanding of pedagogy beyond our contemporary university institutions.
